OMG! I finally got round to trying these out and it was soooo cool!
Cakes that look like Ice creams = pure win!
Basically saw these done on here and wanted to give them a go as they looked fab and really tasty. The cakes are literally baked in the cones and once decorated look like little Ice creams!
I made quite a few different types and flavours. So i'll go through them now.
The mint choc chip ones are either vanilla or chocolate sponge with choc chips throughout, with a mint flavoured buttercream, choc chips, chocolate icing (to resemble sauce) and chocolate wafer straws.
The pink one at the front left is a strawberry. It's a vanilla sponge with a strawberry jam center, with strawberry buttercream, strawberry pink icing (to resemble sauce) hundreds and thousands, mini marshmallows and a few white choc stars.
The white ones are vanilla sponges with choc chips throughout, with vanilla buttercream, chocolate or strawberry icing (sauce), flakes and grated chocolate on top.
The chocolate ones are a choc sponge (some with chips throughout), with a choc buttercream, choc balls, white choc stars and a flake.
Last but not least we have the almond ones, they're similar but a little different. The one with the cherry on top (made for my boyfriend) is an almond sponge with chopped cherry throughout and a jam center. Plain buttercream with chopped nuts (mix of almond, peanut&walnut) and a cherry on top. The other almond is the same sponge and nuts, with a jam center and a choc wafer straw without all the cherry (these ones were for me as I don' t like cherry
) Basically a cherry bakewell
These ones were made for a party so wanted them to be pretty eye catching! lol They went down really well with the adults and children alike
I'll be uploading more pics to show the cakes in more detail.
